Eric Deaton is a torch-bearer of the North Mississippi Hill Country Blues tradition, having received an apprenticeship first-hand from Junior Kimbrough, RL Burnside, and other the masters of the particularly hypnotic, backwoods strain of blues.
With his band, the Eric Deaton Trio, he brings forth influences from his electric juke joint upbringing interpreted with dashes of psychedelic funk, East Indian sitar drones, and a nod to the blues' West African roots.
Aside from his work as an original artist, he's also an in-demand live performer & session musician having performed & recorded with artists ranging from The Black Keys; Hank Williams, Jr.; Afrissippi; Jimbo Mathus; Alvin Youngblood Hart's Muscle Theory; T-Model Ford; Paul "Wine" Jones; Robert Finley; Jimmy "Duck" Holmes; Rev. John Wilkins; North Mississippi Allstars; Valerie June; Shannon McNally; Tony Joe White; and many more...
